More Quality Training

I am sure everyone remembers their real estate priciples class, when eveyone you talked to stressed to pick a broker and office that would provide training. I took their advice seriously, I figured if everyone in the business was telling me the same thing it had to be important. That advice was one of the reasons I chose to work for Long & Foster. When I had first got started I had tons of in office training that really helped. Then they sent me to a training they have called Star Builders. This training takes rookies from several of their offices and have them train together, so it gives the newbies a chance to network with each other. Our trainer was a top producing agent, Carol Harold out of the Foxcroft Ave, Martinsburg WV office. The trainer gives you real world advice and prepares you for both sides of a real estate transaction, from start to after closing, because the agent is a very successful active agent you are getting "real life" scenarios thrown at you. The course also covers how to build your business, technology, how to find business with prospecting and farming, how to prepare yourself for business, etc... I feel so much more prepared for the real estate industry after completing Star Builders. I have to thank Long & Foster for caring about their agents, my manager Margie that made me enroll in class, and definetly Carol Harold my instructor who is willing to share her knowledge and help other agents, in and out of the classroom. Training is indeed important. I started working at an office that had an excellent trainer. She has since left and I've moved to another broker to continue to learn from this person. I have learned so much on how to market my business and find clients. As far as transaction training, I wish I had more. I've only done a couple of deals, and thats where most of my transaction learning has come from. But, on that thought, sometimes experience is the best teacher.

I agree training is very important, and it is not just for the new agents.  Outside of training provided in the office agents should consider working on getting their brokers license, an ABR, GRI, ePro and many of the other designations available.

With things changing in real estate constantly, training is so important.  That's one reason I love AR - the ability to learn from each other.

I agree with quality company training although many companies don't offer that level of support and that is where I come in. I fill in the gaps and take the training to the next level. I work with successful Agents from coast to coast that have had their best years ever working with me. And unlike many other real estate coaches, I give away a ton of free information.
