Your Real Estate Insider: GRI Question?

GRI Question?

I am interested in taking the GRI classes and earning the designation. I understand the training and the 90 hours it will take, I will be starting my first series of classes this year. What i am trying to find out is besides the classroom hours what qualifications do you have to meet to have a GRI designation. I havent been able to find it on the website. Most other designations require classroom hours and a certain amount of closing, experience, etc... If anyone can help me with this information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Aaron, The only requirement (assuming it hasn't changed since I got my GRI 5 years ago) is to attend the 90 hours.  There are no other qualifications needed.  ABR and CRS have qualification requirements although I highly recommend getting your CRS after you complete your GRI. Good luck!

GRI is about the classroom hours.  Whatit also gives you (at least in Maryland) is enough CE hours to allow you to take the Brokers exam.  I just did that in February and now have my Associate brokers license.  I am with Michele.  Next is on to CRS.

Walter,

Congratulation on decding to get that GRI.  All you need to do is complete the course work.  There is no other requirement, and no annual dues to pay.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. The GRI seems like the best education available to me at this time. I have also talked to lots of other agents about what training they thought was most valuable and most have said GRI.

Walter:  Looks like you've got your answer.  Just wanted to let you know that the information I learned in the GRI courses was worth every penny.

Hi Walter!

You have to pay, of course, and then there will be a test at the end of each

class.  You can take GRI 1 online, but you will not get any CE credit and

you will not have that chance to interact with the others, which is a huge, huge opportunity

for you to network. (Be sure to save the cards from the other attendees....you never know

when it will be helpful. Just write on the back the class you met them in).  This is not cheap,

Walter, so put your best effort into getting as much as possible out of each class! Good Luck!!
