Who Let the Dog Out!

I was showing houses today to a buyer I have been working with for some time. We got to a house with showing instructions that read "Two friendly dogs inside, go show". We approached the door and heard the dogs barking. The buyer asked if it was really ok to go inside, I said yeah I am sure its ok. I told him I would go in first, once they were ok with me I would open the door so he could come inside. I went inside they sniffed me for a minute and everything was ok-- so far. I opened the door to let him in and one of the dogs ran outside. I freaked out! I was trying to get the dog but the dog ran because he didnt know me. I could tell the dog wanted back in but wouldnt come back because I was in the way, and my buyer was by the front door. I didnt know what to do. Finally the neighbor came over, he called for the dog and she came running back. Went right to the front door and back inside. I was relieved. I quickly thanked the neighbor and showed the house. I will be more careful next time opening doors with pets on the other side. After it was over, we got a good laugh out of it. I think my buyer liked seeing me freak out.

Thanks Aaron

An unwanted visitor

I recently got a huge compliment from a client (and close friend). He told me that I was a great salesman. I was able to sell his father a house with a squirrel living in it! He was being a little sarcastic. Here is the story. I recently was the buyers agent for my friends father. I found him a great house that backed up to the woods, had a wooded lot and a beautiful fireplace. We got him under contract and were heading to closing. The morning of the home inspection, myself, the buyer and home inspector were all going to meet at the house at 9am. I was almost to the house about fifteen minutes early when I got a call from the buyer. The buyer said to me Aaron I see a squirrel through the window. I said well sir there are lots of trees and the house backs up to the lot, so you are going to see lots of squirrels. I had forgotten that he couldn't be in the house, without me letting him in. His response was" Aaron I see a squirrel through the window and I am outside, the squirrel is on the inside. We went into the house and opened all the exterior doors, walked around and we never found the squirrel, he must have ran out the door. The inspector said that the screen's around the chimney top was missing and the squirrel must have fallen in and not been able to climb out. It made for a great story, and a hilarious home inspection! Thanks Aaron
