Free Landlords Workshop, Martinsburg WV

With today's economy, many people are finding themselves stuck in the role of Landlord. Many of us bought a new home and were not able to sell our old one, or couldn't pass up a deal on an investment property. Whether you are new or old to being a landlord, the one thing you have learned is that it is a tough job. There are so many things to know. This workshop can help. Sponsored by the Eastern Panhandle Board of Realtors, the home builders association, the berkeley county commission and the city of Martinsburg. On April 20th at the Dunn Building in Martinsburg WV. Hope you can attend. Thanks Aaron

Leadership Berkeley, Charleston WV Trip

This past January our Leadership Berkeley class went on our annual trip to Charleston WV. Our WV government leaders went out of their way to show us everything. Below is a picture of our group on the WV senate floor, and below that is our picture with Governor Manchin. It was a great trip and it gave us an in depth look at our state government. I would like to thank Senator Unger, Delegate Overington for helping us organize and schedule everything. I would also like to thank Governor Manchin for taking time to speak with us and address our concerns as WV business leaders. I don't want to forget Tina Combs for being the heart and soul of Leadership Berkeley, its a great program that is possible because of her leadership.

Thanks Aaron

Recycling Center, Pilgrim Street, Inwood WV

The Recycling Center located on Pilgrim Street in Inwood, WV is a great local resource. The recycling center is free for the community. They accept lots of items that would other wise end up at a land fill. I think we can all agree that recyling is a great thing to do. They accept brush and christmas trees that are usually difficult to get rid of. You can also purchase mulch by the tractor scoop ($10 a scoop) while their supplies last. I take everything I can to the Inwood recycling center. I hope if you are in the Inwood area you take advantage of this great resource. Thanks Aaron

Hours of Operation

9am - 5pm

  • Paper Products
  • Aluminum Cans, Foil, & Pie Pans

A Great Agent Resource

I recently signed up for Lowe's Realtor Benefits through Realtor.org. Through their partnership Lows's is offering Realtors benefits for their clients. You sign yourself through the service and then sign up all your clients. They will send your clients coupon packages personalized with your information and photo, so your client know its coming from you. There are different packages for buyers and sellers. They also offer 5% off of gift cards for agents to give as closing gifts, the gift cards have to be purchased online. I think its a great resource, hopefully this will help other agents

Join a new Group

Join a new group. I have just created a new group called "Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia". It is a group for anyone doing business in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. It includes Berkeley, Morgan, and Jefferson Counties. Your business does not have to be based out of these area's, but you should conduct atleast a portion of your business in the Eastern Panhandle. You can post anything you like from listings, industry news, to jokes and funny stories. Hope you enjoy the group. Thanks Aaron

A New Career

I just read this great article about how insurance companies are now hiring lots of life insurance salesmen. They are recruiting former real estate agents, mortgage brokers, etc... I have actually heard of two real estate agents that I know, who have been offered insurance sales jobs. I was wondering if other agents are seeing this. I personally would have no interest in selling insurance. I enjoy real estate sales and wouldn't switch for anything. Are there any other areas looking to steal away agents? I know there are a lot of agents that are taking census jobs, but that is a temporary position. Let me know what you have seen. Thanks Aaron
