Way to go Vince!

I don't typically keep up with whats going on in Hollywood, but recently i learned that actor Vince Vaughn married a REALTOR. I thought this was really cool. After a little research I also learned that he will be starring in a movie named "Realtors" slated for release next year. This will give us some desperately needed entertainment. Way to go Vince!

Focus on the Outcome, not the Income

I just finished a continuing education class about helping a buyer prepare for the buying process. There was lots of good information but there was one thing that really stuck with me. My instructor said focus on Outcome, not Income. Its true that we all work for the money, but that cant be the only reason. If you don't believe in real estate as an investment, you shouldn't be in real estate as a profession. Most agents I know got into real estate because they love the feeling of helping someone reach their dream of home ownership. The best feeling you can possibly have(at work) is handing someone the keys to their new home. I get chills every time. Its natural to let yourself get discouraged in a down market but never forget whats really important. If you love what you do, the money will follow.

Agent Open House VS Client Open House

I am trying to figure out what kind of open house is the most effective. The pros of the Agent Open House is typically put them on during the week, easier to get agents to your house than clients, Great way to get feedback on your listing. The pros of Client Open House is possiblity of finding new clients to work with, Help build  your contact lists for future clients. If you are only going to have one, which is the best?

Home Show advice?

Home Show Advice

At the beginning of the year I wrote a post about participating in my first ever home show. As the year comes to a close we are starting the preperation for this years home show. Last year I was able to fly under the radar, I did some to help set up, I worked a few hours in the booth and I was done. This year my luck has changed. At todays sales meeting I was picked to co-chair the home show committee. I am lucky enough to be working with two other Realtors that are great friends. I am actually a little excited about this opportunity. Does anyone have some good ideas about making for a successful home show. I would like all the the help I can get. Thanks

Leadership Berkeley

The County I live in has a program, ran by the Chamber of Commerce, called Leadership Berkeley. It is a program made for business and community leaders. To get into the program you have to be nominated by someone in the community. You then have to fill out an application, and then a committee confirms or denies each applicant. This year I was nominated and accepted into the program. I am looking forward to such a great opportunity to all the upcoming lessons and networking opportunities. I have been actively involved with the Chamber for a few years now and have been very interested in this program. Tonight is the first time I will meet the group, its orientation night. I am really excited. I will give updates after every Leadership Lesson. Thanks Aaron Poling
